This is called the spider system technique and is fairly new but suppose to be a lot easier for recovery... Heres a link I found for you http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&cad=rja&ved=0CFgQFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wenatcheeworld.com%2Fnews%2F2010%2Faug%2F31%2Fsurgery-through-the-belly-button-new-weight-loss%2F&ei=iuo8UIycMOOU8AGh8oCIDA&usg=AFQjCNHwEnL4s2sR7JU12nwwUXmYMyQXaQ&sig2=bDy7hQvLwyLZiNrM_BDlYw
I am 5' 7" and had SILS VSG (Single Incision) through the belly button (the SPIDER is just another type - many companies have systems for single incision). Healed fast/glued, and not terribly painful with a loose waist band for the first week post op. It was no larger than folks who have multiple sites because there is alway one larger anyway. The scar is complately hidden in my belly button.
It really is not directly related to your height, but the "sternum/belly button distance" as my surgeon explained it...generally easier to do on "lightweights".

Thanks for your replies! I had not heard of this before...and hope the recovery might be a little less painful as there is only ths one point of entry. I will look at the link and read up on it.
So for those who had it done this way, did your belly button heal up well or is it bigger...notice any difference?
