For the post-op cheaters-I want to know...

It sounds to me like some folks already had their answers locked and loaded, so it didn't really matter to them (or they ignored) what the question actually asked. I thought that you had made it clear that you were asking about eating mushies/pureed food at week 3. You didn't ask anything about eating something crazy, like a burger. You also said repeatedly that your intent was to stay on your plan no matter what responses you got. I can understand where the other people were coming from, but I thought it was just a bit unwarranted. I watched lockup last night, that does not mean I ever plan on going to prison, I just find it interesting to see whats going on in there. I thought your question was kind of like that.
The biggest mistakes I've made have been eating too fast or mindlessly (or both). Those usually would cause a feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest OR... worse... sliming. It's like where there's entirely too much saliva in your mouth and you can't really swallow it so you're bent over the sink spitting until it stops.
The sliming thing happens even now if I take my vitamins too fast. I have to wait between pills for a minute or two. If I get in a hurry... I pay the price.
Chances are, if you really screw up, nothing horrible will happen... but there is a chance something will. I remember some idiot on here eating a cheeseburger a 2 weeks out. They were quite proud they got the whole thing down.

I get what you're asking. The answer is, bad crap can happen so follow your plan and follow the rules.
Do I follow the rules all the time? Not at 14 months out. But until 3-4 months, I was "letter of the law" because I sure as heck didn't want anything bad happening to my healing stomach.
MY main rule now is that I try to stay on plan 95% of the time and I always log it - even the bad stuff I'm embarrassed about. It goes on the log. I own it. I did it. I also don't EVER eat ANYTHING without measuring it first (unless we're out and I can use the standard eyeball measurements for that, but at home... I weight it all). It keeps me honest.

Yup, get a scale. I go back and forth between thinking things are more than they are and less than they are. LOL. Usually more these days. I'll put this piece of fish on my plate and my husband is all *** that's only 1oz, you're not eating enough protein). I'll argue with him and go get the scale and the ******* is usually right. LOL

I have a question, do you weigh your food before or after you cook it? Part of me would think raw chicken would be 2oz but when cooked it shrinks...does it lose any "weight"? And is it enough to even matter? I only ask because I was planning to but boneless skinless chick breast and cuz it into 2oz pieces and freeze it....just curiious if I should make it say 2.2 ozs :)
I use after because that's what it sounds like on MFP, but I'm not sure it matters all that much unless you're eating something majorly calorie laden. Remember, it's all a GUESSTIMATE anyway.

I ate 3 Kraft Dinner noodles and tuna on a fork!...I was starting to give up...I thought the pain can't be any worse than I already was in!!!..It was horrific. I thought my chest was going to explode. and the slimeys were awful. There was pain every time I ate/drank!!!...Oh yeah, I had a leak. It took them 4 months to figure it out. My saving grace was my stomach contents emptied from my sleeve into 3 abscesses! Thank Gawd!!..
