Normal to be eating fav. meals as a break up?
As Rob said - some of your tastes will change. You may not be able to tolerate cheese for a long time, or you could be totally fine. I had a much higher fat tolerance before than I do now, which is fine.
Just for today you can make a healthy choice in your food. Maybe tomorrow you'll have a grilled cheese, maybe not. Today is the only day that matters.
I did the same thing. It took three weeks for me to obtain approval from the insurance company. From the time of my initial visit with my surgeon and the pre-op visit, I had gained 5 pounds. The nurse asked me why I had gained weight and I said that I was enjoying my favorite non-healthy foods before my surgery! I lost the 5 pounds on the pre-surgery diet. I admit I halfway followed the diet. I was sure to not eat really fatty or fried foods and ate in moderation. I had my surgery one week ago today and I'm sticking to the liquid diet to the letter!

108.2 lbs lost from highest weight!
(86.2 lbs of that was lost since surgery date)
Keep in mind you will have a headache your first 3 days you go on liquids because your body is addicted to the carbs, sugar, etc. but it is what it is and it passes!
p.s. I still enjoy my food and eat eggs and cheese all the time, bacon occasionally too! It's not as bad as you might think, this post op eating.
I wish I would have chilled out and realized I CAN eat those same foods after surgery if I really wanted to. Thank God I dont want to!
