xpost: 11 Months and Getting Wet
So I tried on my old dive suit this month. My last SCUBA log entry was 1993. The suit fit me perfectly so I immediatly sprung into action. After all, how long will that wetsuit fit? Maybe just for a month or two. I got with my local dive shop and updated my gear. Let me tell ya, the cost of that puts my clothes shopping into perspective
but I got geared up and took a refresher course. This weekend I'm going to be taking an advanced open water course and maybe even going ocean wreck diving before my surgiversary. Before my sleeve I had pretty much accepted I'd never get to dive again. What a thrill to reenter the water and feel better than I did when I was diving 20 years ago.
Weight wise I was stalled most of the month but still managed to lose about 9 lbs. I'm sneaking up on 200 lbs and should make it be before my surgiversary in October. And I'm a stones throw from losing half my body weight. What a difference and what a ride. I can't wait for my next NSVs because this month was UN FREAKING REAL.
