6 years post VSG surgery - what life is like...
Hi Everyone, I haven't been on this site in at least 10 months and I think it has to be a couple of years since I posted. I was thinking a lot about my surgery and my journey lately so I thought I would let you know how I am doing. I realize there are very few if any of my original friends still on the site so I will give you a little info about myself. I had the surgery 6 years ago. Pre surgery I weight 238 pounds and I am 5'8" tall. At ten months after the surgery I had lost 100 pounds and weighed a healthy weight of 138. I wore a size 6-8 and felt good. Although I was ready to go into maintenance my body had other ideas... I continued to lose weight. In part because my relationship with food had changed and with the ghrelin removed I just didn't really feel much like eating and when I did I ate very small amount. Approx the size of one-third of an appetizer from the restaurant. Eventually I got down to 126 and wore a size 2 clothing. I looked terrible. I was thinner than my teenage daughter and I looked anorexic. At 3.5 years post op I finally began to gain a little. I got to a size 6 and this morning when I got dressed I noticed the size of my pants. I am still wearing a size 6. I have been able to maintain since then. I still start most days off with a protein shake just cause I can eat them on the go and I really like them. I really don't exercise formally and I never have through my surgery story. I make sure I take the parking spot that is the furthest away from the store and always take the stairs etc... But I never joined a gym or got on the treadmill in a regular pattern. However, even without that I did lose the weight and I did lose the weight and I would do this surgery again anytime. It was the greatest thing I ever did for myself and today I love the way I look and feel. If anyone has any questions for me because I have been post op for so long please ask. Take Care and happy weightloss.

Lee, you look amazing. You really had all the ps's didn't you. How were they> I had my breasts done - because mine were looking like a flat egg that way down to far. I love the augmentatioon and wish I had done it years ago. It is nice to have a younger body and that;s is just with my breasts. How is your body now> Your avatar pic looks great! Let me know how you are and how the PS 's were. Thanks Dianna

The plastics are great. I opted to just do it all at once. I used a fabulous surgeon in Mexico. I stayed in a clinic for five nights, then in a hotel with daily nursing and surgeon care for another seven nights. I was so well taken care of. I dcded to just get a lift instead of augmentation because he promised that I would be thrilled. He was right. I couldn't be happier with my results.

Hi Lee, Can you tell me who your surgeon is in Mexico and what part of Mexico. I had my augmentation own there as well and it was the best surgery I ever had. super easy, little pain and I even went on my own and didn't tregret that decision because it wasn' t work another airline ticket when I did so well. I am certainly interested in your experience. Thanks Again, |Dianna
