LOL - maybe it depends on exactly how you do whatever you call it!  Like, one week for plain  vanilla, two weeks for neopolitan, and three weeks before you hit Baskin Robbins???

I'm pre-op too, so we'll see what the the pros have to say about this! 

So I guess Cold Stone is out of the question till about week 4-5.....LOL....thanks

My doctor told me to wait until I was out of the hospital, other than that, anytime I felt like it. :)

His other piece of valuable advice on the topic, was to do what felt good and to stop doing it if it stopped feeling good. :) Seemed pretty straight forward to me. I think I ended up waiting about a week anyway, just because I wasn't really into it mentally more than anything else.

I had very little pain after surgery, almost none actually, and I was able to be quite active within a few days. It does seem to be different for everybody.

Well, if you can have sex when you feel like it, maybe the poster who asked about line dancing could actually be dancing sooner than I thought!

Omg! Not in hospital...LOL. My husband would be the one to want to try that....Thanks

You showed amazing restraint... just how did you wait until you were out of the hospital to resume 'activities' LOL

I wonder how many people don't wait until they are out of the hospital to resume?

My doctor has a very dry sense of humor, he says these things in a total dead pan way, and if you are not careful, you think he's serious.  :)

I am still pre-op and my bariatric nurse brought the topic up... I didn't.  She told me AND get this my husband that I can have sex when I feel up to it. She also stated HE HAD to do all the work, no straining of exertion. He looked at me and said "Guess you will be waiting a while until you are physically able, eh dear?"  Heaven forbid if he takes the helm for a short while... his loss... I can live without it
