hahaha You crack me up!  I just adore reading your posts, because you are so funny.  I also call those *******s at the hospital vampires!  They take SO much blood, and they seem to delight in it.  And hooray for the hot kidney doctor!  My anesthesiologist for my surgery was smokin' hot, and my friend and I were joking about maybe he'd do a bit of groping while I was under. hahaha  Yes, we're awful people.

Congrats on your loss, both pounds and inches, and your improved health!  You're doing a great job!

Hahahaha Becky!!!  Talking about making someone laugh -- being groped while under anesthesia indeed!    I don't think you're awful at all.........geeze, I've given thought to why I never have to get into one of those gowns they give us for our physicals when I see my Nephrologist!   OH WELL............SIGH

If you have nothing to do for a few hours, get a copy of "The Fifth Vial" -- it will make you think about why the vampires take so much blood from us LOL LOL LOL  Yep, it's worth the read!

Thank you for your kind words...........so many of the folks on OH are just wonderful people!

Typing of ONEderful.....don't ya luv the segue??? -- congratulations on your latest achievement!  Be proud girl!  And size 8?   WOW -- even with the........um..............ahem, certain lumps and bumps, that's SUPER!!!  You'll be in size 2 by the time you reach goal!

Have a great weekend!

Sounds wonderful!  You give hope to the newbies like me.  Also, love how you named your sleeve!  I'll have to come up with one for mine.  Lizzy?  Mabel?  Suzy?  AHHH...Minnie!  Keep going!!!

Never dreamed that I could feel this good about myself again.  Looking forward to many healthy years now.

Hi Alice

Thank you so much.  I was a newbie, too..........still am in many ways.  This has been a great journey thus far and I expect it to continue to be.  So much depends on our attitudes.  I TRY hard to live in gratitude........even when life tosses lemon grenades into my life!  We just have to find the silver lining and push on.

I've read a few posts from you and I know you have concerns with age, etc.  Never fear -- we "recycled teenagers" can do this.  I was 64 the day of surgery............exactly one month later I turned 65.  I had a relatively easy time of it in the hospital and recovery.  I do believe that since I'm an old warhorse with LOTS of surgeries in my past, that helped me with this.  After enough surgeries, we learn how to move ourselves a lot better than a neophyte when we are newly post-op.  I also had an umbilical hernia repair at the same time as my sleeve.  If it hadn't been for that, I think I would have had no pain at all..........just some discomfort from the sleeve.  Having the additional surgery also held me back from starting serious exercising.  Now, at 3 months out, I'm back to normal -- just less of me!

Try not to have fear about this surgery.  It's worth whatever you have to go through.  If you are going to join a tracking program, may I recommend MyFitnessPal...........many OHers are on there, too, and the support and encouragement is GREAT!   I'm Justme72847 there if you want to friend me.

As for naming my sleeve -- she mostly named herself.  A while back, my tiny tummy was VERY loud -- SERIOUSLY.........LOUD LOL  With the grumbles and rumbles, I swear she said Myrtle.  Who am I to argue with a new sleeve?  Ergo, she is Myrtle.......and I just love her!!!

Feel free to PM me if you want to talk or have questions that you don't want to post on the board.  People here and MFP have helped me so much -- I want to pay it forward if I can to anyone who wants/needs help.

Welcome aboard...................keep us posted on your surgery date and how you're doing as you approach it.

Hi Gale

Thank you so much.  Yes, I am very fortunate in many ways.  This has been mostly easy for me, but I think a lot of it is having had so much experience with lots of surgeries -- kind of learned how to move and deal with things.  Age has its benefits LOL

You know it about the eye candy!  OMG, it's just awful this crush I have on him -- and I'm old enough to be his mother..............OH WELL, I'm a recycled teenager and I am going to enjoy whatever it brings LOL

I'm happy for you -- so close to goal..........I bet it feels wonderful!!!  Keep workin' that sleeve!
