Wedding

I was invited to a wedding back in July...since that time I received my vsg date...my date is 10/11 the wedding is 10/13 and I crazy for thinking I still maybe able to attend the wedding? I was thinking I'd go and just sit, but somehow I know my thoughts are absoultley insane....How did you all feel 2 days later....I know im being absolutley ridiculous for thinking this??? Help snap me back into reality

There is no way going to a wedding 2 days post-op would have been doable for me. Even though you are encouraged to walk and move around you still need quite a bit of rest especially that close to surgery.

Ditto- I was sleeping a lot 2 days postop and feeling the effects of the anesthesia still. In fact, I was not discharged from the hospital until 48 hours after surgery. I was starting to feel better but not up to doing much but try to drink and sleep. Maybe others had a different experience but I don't know that you will know how you will feel until the actual time.

I was still in the hospital 2 days after surgery.  I don't know that you'll be able to make it to the wedding.  Would your surgeon be willing to move your surgery up if there's a cancellation?  If you can get at least a week in between you may be able to go and sit and socialize.  I hope you can find  viable alternative so that you can do both!  :)   

I had surgery on a Tuesday and didn't get to go home until Friday due to severe nausea and vomiting. After I got home I just wanted to take a shower in my own bathroom and was exhausted just doing that. No way could I have gone to a wedding. That's just my reality though, everyone is different. Maybe you can move your surgery up or back a week so you can go?

Questionable whether or not you will be out of the hospital.  (You probably will, though.)

No question that you will not feel up to it.

Can you change your surgery date to a day or two AFTER the wedding?

Thanks everyone for sharing with me.....Yeah the reality is I may or may not be home from the hospital yet and if I am its probably not a good idea to be out trying to socialize...Althought I didnt want to I contacted the bride today to let her know that my husband and I wont be able to make it...I almost cried but I know I need to do this now so no putting it off and my surgeon is booked tight...If I were to change, I wouldnt get a date until November and my nerves cannot handle that.

You are absolutely right. I have had to reschedule twice and now 9 days from third attempt so it better work this time coz my nerves are shot.
