Problems with Fluids and Protein.
Having a really hard time getting in my fluids I have had problems with it since about 2 weeks out the only way I seem to be able to get in more than 20 to 30 ounces of water or powerade zero is if I don't eat more than a couple bites once maybe twice a day. I can tell I am getting dehydrated but I have no idea what to do about it, do I stop eating so that I can get in my fluids or what? Have a super hard time getting in hardly any protein as well I take 3 or 4 drinks and feel like I am stuffed to the gills but it is really thick to because if I do not blend it with ice or some frozen banana I can not stand it. So any in put or suggestions would be great.

My first few weeks of mushies/food I had to put myself on a schedule:
Wake-up - 16 oz water/powerade zero
Breakfast - 1/4 cup yogurt
45 min later - 16 oz water/powerade zero
30 min after finishing water - 1/4 cup cottage cheese
45 min later - protein shake
Immediately after shake - 16 oz water/powerade zero
30 min after finishing water - 1/4 cup yogurt
etc...
Set reminders on your phone if you need to. I didn't start my next meal until I'd finished my water.

Have you talked to your surgeon, or staff, about this? At this point the inflammation should be down enough that light fluids like water, broths, etc. should not be that much of a problem, and shouldn't be impeding the consumption of other foods, even soft foods or heavier liquids. While some of us can down relatively large amounts of light fluids from the outset and others are somewhat more restricted, it sounds like you are on the extreme end of things and their might be a physical problem that needs attention. Not getting enough fluids or protein are both bad news and something needs to be done about it.

Hey! You should definiately talk to you surgeon. I had the same problem. I was hospitalized 3 times for dehydration. On the third hospitalizaton my surgeon decided I needed to have a PICC line put in becuase I would get hydrated and then dehydrated again. Also, I was becoming malnurished because I wasn't getting enought protein or any other food besides mashed potatoes. I've had my PICC line for 3 weeks now, and I have only been to the hospital once for a problem with my line and I am no longer malnurished. I hope you don't need to go down the path I am on. But you really should talk to you surgeon. The faster you do, the faster you can get to a better path. I wish you the best of luck!
