Thanks Jenn! It's really been incredible today.........I'm still flying! This site and MFP are just great. I've found the old adage to be very true..........troubles shared are halved, but joys shared are doubled. I'm so lucky to have this OH family..........and you, my dear little one, are always a wonderful ray of sunshine and happies!!!!

So - knitting? Sewing? SHOPPING? I confess I'm doing all 3 for our own first grandbaby that is due in January.
Congratulations - I hear it's the best gig in town!
Now you need to decide what you want to be called. I'm leaning toward Grammy, myself.

Hi Kelly-Anne,
Thanks so much. You know, a long time ago, when the boys started dating seriously, I started to crochet a baby blanket -- pink, blue, and white in varigated yarn. Some time after I learned I'd be a Grandma. I found it packed away. It's almost finished, so my next step is to crochet the trim. The other Grandma-to-be crochets and knits, so I think I'll probably be doing a lot of sewing as she doesn't know how............and she's WAY better at knitting and crocheting than I am. We make a good team!
You get to have your grandbaby before I do, so I expect to get some lessons from you!!!
I'm Italian, so Grandma is Nonna (No-Nah), but it's not used much even in the most ethnic of homes these days. I'll probably be Grandma Ree and the other grandma will be Grandma Jan.
The only thing that gets to me is that they live so far away -- both sets of grandparents are here in Illinois, though we are 4 hours apart. Thankfully, we are all retired and can travel without having to struggle getting time off.
YAY for becoming Grammies or Grandmas or whatever the little ones will end up calling us!!!

Thank you! I was worried I'd get too old before this happened and I'd be so senile I wouldn't know what was going on LOL LOL LOL

Thanks Elise!! I'm still as happy as a clam in garlic sauce! Must wait until mid March for his arrival -- for now, I'll sew all kinds of fun things for him...........and maybe the new Mommy and Daddy!
