So - guess where we are...

We're all good here. Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers.
I have to say that I'm VERY impressed by how well it was handled here. Fortunately this time there wasn't much swell when the waves arrived, but if there had been almost all of the people would have been safe. (There were a few idiots out on a pier - watching for the tsunami to hit - they'd likely have been dead)
By the time of the expected first wave the only cars on the roads here on Waikiki were the few that were abandoned by people heading in and up into buildings as advised by the local government. There wasn't any panic that we could see, just a lot of people that knew exactly what to do and did it. (There were several collisions with injuries as one could expect, but generally the population was calm and prepared)
Barry and I are planning a quiet day today. I'm a mess of scrapes, bruises and stiff muscles from yesterday's adventure with the paddle boards. Paddle boarding is much harder than it looks, but now we know what we need to practice at home so we'll be ready for next time. Yes, there is a certain amount of idiocy/insanity in my family. Why do you ask?

Actually, we're planning on Maui next time. We've decided that when my weight slides under 200 Barry will book off some time and we'll head off on another holiday. I don't lose especially quickly, but I know it'll happen.
