OT: Clothing Donations in Hudson Valley for Sandy Victims
A girl, Michelle, who works at Poughkeepsie Nissan @ 1445 Route 9, Wappingers Falls NY is starting a clothing donation center for those who were effected by Hurricane Sandy. (babies, kids, and adult clothing please!!) She is going down and giving the clothes out to those who have nothing but the clothes on their backs. PLEASE HELP if you are local, it would be so greatly appreciated!!! We are open M-F 730am-6pm or Sat 8am-4pm. Thanks!!! ![]()
While it is a wonderful thought the red cross doesn't use those sorts of things just causes them more work. That is why they request money because they have connections that can get these things for far less. Plus there is very little chance she can get into the areas that are in need many are closed to even the residents. I would suggest we all donate to the red cross and let the professionals do what they do best.
well actually she's from there and her family can get directly to the people who are without. so it's going straight to victims. money is tight for some people to give but we all have items we can share. if we recall too red cross has had areas in the past that were shady and the money didn't go where it needed to. (although i do agree if you can give $$ to an organization you should as well) but these people need to be warm and we are gathering clothing to help with that matter. we've already gotten some clothes down there. I'm not laying down when there are things i can do. thanks for your opinion though.
