Hi

I started losing hair at my fourth month and it has slowed down now and I am almost at 8 months. I think I've list about a third to half my hair. Bummer. I've been coloring my hair every month and it does not seem to have any impact on loss. And at least my hair us only thin rather than thin and grey!

As a hairstylist i can reassure you going darker will not antagonize the hair loss. I would not recommend any bleaching or lightening of the hair, perm or relaxing services, or any of the new "Brazilian blowout" techniques. Using good shampoo and conditioner is the best thing you can do for your scalp and hair and to prevent hair loss.

Thank you so much Jackie!!! I'm going a dark red!, I found that the infusium conditioner works best for my hair, don't to seem to fall out as much

Just do a semi-permanent. They are MUCH less harsher with regards to chemicals and they work just as well. I do it all the time. I hate those greys! My 30th is in March so I feel you! :)

Clairol makes a great semi-permanent that I use all the time. I've also used the Garnier permanent and loved it, the color was so much richer. I'm in month 5 and barely have any hair loss but am expecting it to start any time now. I'd rather have great looking thin hair than gray thin hair! lol  Good luck!  My doctor put us on zinc to help reduce hair loss and so far he's been right on.
