Almost called her out by mistake. Close call and the decision not to reveal.

Met my sisters at a local outlet mall for lunch.  My one sister kept telling me about her friend who went to the same WLS location and lost all the weight doing only the liquid diet.  To be honest, this is not the first time I have heard this and it annoys the **** out of me, but I love me sister so what can you do.  Anyway, her group of friends shows up a bit after we arrived.  Turns out this friend of hers is in the same group support group as me and I know she had the Rny, but clearly she has not revealed this to others.  Fortunately my brain worked barely fast enough- I greeted her like I knew her and my sister noticed.  She looked mildly freaked out at first, but hopefully could tell I was not going to say anything.  Unfortunately, I do not know her outside of the group so i don't know how to let her know that I didn't reveal anything.  My sister did ask over lunch (we were at a separate table from her friends) and I just said it was an awkward moment, my sister recognized that I didn't want to talk about it, and left it alone.  I sure hope the friend doesn't stress over this.  I can totally relate to her decision to not tell folks.  I told family and a very few friends, but nobody at work.

I get that it's her decision to not tell.  But not telling, and lying are two different things.  If she's stressing, that's on her.  Not to mention, who believes that anyway?  I sure as heck wouldn't buy it.  I'm fat, I know what it's like!   And for the rare person who does stick to a liquid only diet and loses, we all know what happens as soon as you start eating food again...

Eh...don't worry yourself over others people's silliness.  You did the right thing by not outing her and choosing to simply say nothing.  Let it go at that.
