I will be 53 in 2 months. I am 11 weeks postop. I did not have a difficult recovery. I am on target for percentage of excess weight loss for 3 months. Good luck on your journey.

I'm 65 and nearly 3 wks post op.  Couldn't have had a better recuperation.  No pain in the hospital, No problems at home.  Had my check up yesterday and complemented the Dr. on the lack of pain I felt.  I even had a large hiatal hernia repaired during the surgery.  My dr. said that probably part of the reason I had so little pain (aside from his good surgical technique of course)  had to do with my age.  He said the older you are the more you are used to normal aches and pains and just accept what younger ones are not able to handle.  Guess there has to be some good stuff coming with age!  I was worried that my age would be a hindrance to a insurance ok, but they actually told me there had been people in their 70's who have done fine.  It was an almost perfect experience for me and one I wished I had done earlier.

Best of luck to you.

Alice

Never dreamed that I could feel this good about myself again.  Looking forward to many healthy years now.
