Nervously waiting for results
I had an endoscopy yesterday as requested by my surgeon as a pre op test. It uncovered Barrot's esophagus which is a change in some cells due to years of acid reflux. These cells can turn cancerous in time. The test also found a large growth. They took a biopsy and said I will have the results in about a week.
This endoscopy is going to be the difference between getting surgery or having something more critical to deal with. I would much rather deal with the surgery
. Wish me luck.
Sending you heaps of positive energy.

I know it's hard to do all that waiting. If you can go away for the weekend, then do that..go visit some family or if $$ is a consideration...go take in a movie. Clean out your closets (that always takes more time than is wanted..lol)..anything to help take your mind off of it for a little while. I wish you luck and I pray for you to have the best of health.
Hi, I had the same experience as you. Had an upper endoscopy (required for surgery pre-op), told G.I. doctor before the procedure that the last time I had heartburn was 14 years ago before I had my gallbladder removed. I said to myself, this will be a benign test. When I woke up in the recovery room I was still a little groggy, the Doctor came over and said something about the esophagus and biopsies, call the office in 2 weeks to get your report. Two weeks later, the office nurse leaves a message on my answering machine, your pathology report shows Barretts esophagus and the doctor will rescope you in 2 years, call the office for an appointment, doc wants to see you. Well I did freak out big time, looked up everything I could find out about Barretts, I mean I had silent reflux, never, ever had any symptoms of heartburn, I was shocked to say the least!. I was sure that I would not be able to have bariatric surgery. So off to the appointment I go, doctor says Barretts area is small, non cancerous and the surgery will help.
Good luck to you and I hope this helps.
