Getting off of OH for a little while

I appreciate all of the support that has been given to me in this short time. I also love giving help to those who are having their VSGs after me. While I am being successful and following advice given to me, I won't be able to post as much.

My stepson's issues actually go far deeper than we feared. We found out that he's suicidal and that his mother is under a CPS investigation due to medical neglect. We are looking at getting custody. Right now, our #1 priority is getting him the help he needs. I still plan to stay the course and do everything I am supposed to do, but we need to get our lives in order so we can manage this as a family.

I will hop on here from time to time for updates on everyone and to update everyone on how life is going for us. I wish you all the best and thank you all so much for the support!

My thoughts and prayers are with you!  My youngest son was suicidal and had to be hospitalized.  Thank heaven he has you and his father to make him your #1 priority! My son came through the darkness but it wasn't without a lot of prayers, good thoughts and support of our friends and family.

Thank y'all! He is in the hospital now, due to CPS making it mandatory that he saw a doctor. Thank God for the school intervening . I'm hoping with medication and therapy, he will pull through. He's only 10.

Oh my goodness. My your family be provided with the strength and love you will need to get this little Angel through these trying times with peace and serenity. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and him especially. May God protect you all. We will be here when you need.

Mom, I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.  I know what you're talking about.  My husband and I have been in an almost five-year custody fight for our grandson, who came to us after suffering abuse and neglect in his mother's home and after she ignored repeated pediatrician advice regarding his diagnosis of failure to thrive.  We can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, but it can consume so much of your time and energy along the way.  Prepare for your last nerve to be stomped on early and often.

Please, please take care of yourself so that you will have the stamina to fight this good fight! 

My heart breaks for your stepson. Such a young age for so much pain. :-( So glad he has you to fight for him, that kind of support is a huge piece of turning around such mental health issues. Best of luck with everything.

Sometimes life happens and we just have to deal with it. We got custody of our 16 yr. old grand daughter 8 yrs ago and it was the best thing for her and us. We saved her from an abusive and neglectful mother and she brought us great joy, now she is an awesome mother to 2 little girls herself. If this poor little guy is suicidal he needs you and your stability so you just go out there and show him a ton of love and you will help him more than you can know! Your healthy eating will also help him be healthier physically and mentally so it's win, win for all of you. God bless!
