Thoughts after going to movies this weekend.

I am still on full liquids per my surgeon (mushies are coming soon!), but I have noticed, particularly since I saw not one but two movies this weekend, that I have become a smell freak.

Here's what I mean:  When we went through the food court to the theater for the first movie (Hobbit), all I could do was just smell all the different smells.  And I really liked smelling them, and I wasn't tempted to eat them.  A few smells were a bit artificial for me, or overwhelming.  But as a whole I liked smelling the food, and during the movie I liked smelling the popcorn.

For the second movie (Les Mis), I still liked most of the smells, although someone had on too much perfume and I swear the guys behind me were eating full meals from In 'n Out or some similar place (I didn't look).  Again, enjoyed the smells, not tempted to eat, but also became REALLY aware that America has a problem.  When did we decide we should eat an entire meal while watching a movie in the theater?  And seriously, the constant crunching was driving me nuts from an "I'm trying to watch the movie" perspective.

Weirdes thing (this may be a NSV?), I just made banana bread with my kids, then sliced them each a peace.  I am having none.  It smells amazing.  But it's too early for my sleeve, and even if it weren't, I know where that would lead.  So I'm enjoying the smell, and leaving it to them.

Really, I've become a freak.

Count me a smell freak, too, then.  Someone mentioned pizza the other day and when I walked out the building onto Market Street in SF, I smelled pizza, followed by hot dogs and burgers.  I, too, thought,  hmm that smells good, and would probably taste good.  But I didn't want to eat them.  I'm on mushies and don't want to eat anything.

Ha. That was me who mentioned the pizza. My husband brought home pizza and the smell was great but I was fine. Before this surgery, I would had to have a couple of pieces but I know I'm not ready for even a small slice and I am fine with it. I smelled steak the other day driving by a steak place and it smelled wonderful but I didn't even feel an urge to eat it. I was fine with the smell. Your not a freak. If so, we all 3 are freaks! :)
