Jeff,

You shouldn't have any problems sleeping on your side and will probably find it more comfortable. I was very lucky and didn't have a lot of discomfort. I was glad when I could roll onto my stomach. The biggest issue I had 4-5 days out was being weak. Not only have you had major surgery but your body is adjusting to little nourishment. It would take me half a day to get a protein shake in the first few weeks. Due to swelling you have to take frequent , small sips. Hope you also have no problem with nausea and "gas" pain. Good luck.

Hey, thanks for addressing this. I want to be very careful that I don't put my wife in the position of having to lift me up. On my back, I think it would be hard for me to get up. So, I am glad to hear that people have been able to sleep on their side.
