Skin Question...

I know that many people have skin issues on their trunks, thighs, and arms. However, what about the facial area? Have any of you vets ended up with jowls, loose neck, sagging cheeks, or anything like that?

Yes I do have loose skin under my Jaw. My eye lids bother me also. I was thinking of going to the doctors to show him the weight loss has caused my eye lids to become very loose and hang down that it bothers me to see. But I do not have the money to get them fixed wondering if insurance would pay for them because they are in my line of site.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

IF your doctor can prove it is for medical necessity and not cosmetic then it is very possible. Talk to your doctor. See what he says and if he agrees have him submit a predetermination to your insurance.

If it interferes with your vision and that is documented then most insurance will pay for your eyelids..

After losing 300 lbs, I had to have a face lift.  My face was so bad that I couldn't sleep on my side, my skin would fall over my nose and occlude my breathing.

My facelift took 8.5  hours and the surgeon said he had never seen that much excess skin on anyone's face.

I love my new face!

BTW: my vision was impeded by 60% and my insurance still refused to pay for my facelift.  I paid cash for all of my plastics.

Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months!  My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12!  I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve!  Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!

Thanks for taking time to reply to my question. Losing 300 is awesome! Do you have any before/after pics? I'd like to see them. I never would have thought a face lift would have taken that long! I'm glad it worked out well.
