An Ah-Ha moment...

For those of you in Texas, if you've ever been to the American Airlines center, you know that the seats are sized for children! At least, that's what I used to tell myself when I'd squeeze my thighs into a spot for an event. My hubby and I went with our church youth group(includes my oldest daughter and her best friend) to the Rock & Worship Roadshow last night. About half way through the concert my behind was getting a bit numb so I decided to reposition myself. It was only then that I realized I could have spun all the way around in my seat because of all the space! I stuck my arms down beside my thighs in my seat AND THEY FIT...WITH ROOM TO SPARE! I started crying right there in my seat. I remember going to see another performer only 2 years before and being thankful that we were expected to stand up through most of the event because the seat sides were leaving marks on my legs. I was able to sit comfortably, move around, fold my arms IN MY LAP not over my gut, and set my feet on the seat in front of me. I was so happy.

The inspirational message of the night was fantastic, of course, but being able to sit in such a small space in my mind was phenomenal. If you ever feel you haven't accomplished much, find a stadium or an auditorium and sit in a seat...you will feel better about yourself.

My last bonus of the night was purchasing a shirt at the vendor stand. Kutless had sold out of the regular tee that I wanted so I opted for a "ladies" cut shirt. I asked for a medium as that is my current size and frowned when I saw how curvy it was. I opted for the large(was truly thinking of getting the extra large), and when I tried it on at home, it was loose on me. It is entirely appropriate for my age(I'm not a teeny-bopper anymore) but I could have easily gotten away with a ladies cut medium shirt. I couldn't believe it!

Thanks for reading, listening, and smiling right along with me. Victories come in the strangest of places when you least expect them. I love that part of this journey!!

Sounds like you had a great night, good for you! Weight loss is still hard work even for those of us who have had wls so every nsv is well earned.

I know exactly what you are taking about! I go to concerts all the time. I had tickets to 8 shows at the same place in the same seat last summer. my first one was 2 weeks after surgery and by September i could fit in it perfectly with out spilling over. Can't wait to go back in may and see the difference now.

How awesome!  I am going to Women of Faith in August and I'm down almost 90 pds so it will be a whole different experience!

One thing I noticed last mont at the movies was that I had shrunk a couple of inches in my seat!  I always felt weird being so much taller than my husband at the theaters so now we are equal due to my rear end shrinking, lol.  This is so amazing, huh?

I am from Arlington, so I am familiar with the baby seats you speak of!  I have not been there in a long time, so I can't wait to see the difference!! Congrats!
