Butterflies in tummy.

Hi To all:

After surgery does one still feel butterflies in their stomach ?

That nervous, fluttery feeling you might get before a test or an important game. The fight or flight reaction we get when we are in a stressful situation, are those feelings still there after surgery ?

Being that 85 percent of the stomach is remove, are there any changes to how

the new stomach reacts ?

Has anyone experienced any of these feeling ?

I have not had surgery yet, just trying to get as much information as I can

before my surgery.

Thanks.

Interesting question.  I just feel a tightening in the chest area with the stress.  I haven't felt anything in the tummy.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

What a great, original question.  I certainly didn't think of that pre-op.  I'd hit the like button if there was one.  Having said that, I believe the answer is yes. For me it is, anyway.  I'm almost 10 weeks out.  I get anxiety at times with that butterfly feeling at work.  When my phone shows that someone left a message I get anxiety and that, "OMG, who is it?  What do they want, what did I do wrong?" feeling  It's strange because I am normally a very calm person but that will cause butterflies for me. I noticed I had butterflies last week.  I don't think they were any different than pre-op.

Cool question! I usually felt that sensation lower, like around the uterus area. I know guys don't have that...lol! I wonder...I think those who have been on a rollercoaster since their surgery can chime in and tell us!!

Yes I do...Lucky for me I still get them sometimes when I see my Sig. Other...even after 20 years :)...and yes, I still get them when I am nervous too.

Over all ..after 6-7 weeks post op..I feel the same...well, better...I just cant eat as much, and I am more aware of what i ma eating..I focus on protein and fluids..I take my vitamins..otherwise, it is life as normal ( but with smaller clothes.)..and I no longer get out of breath just putting on my shoes :)
