Weigh-In Frequency?

I'm just 10 days post op and weighing every day.
I have two scales in the bathroom - one is a regular digital scale, the other is a fitbit wifi scale that logs the weight and it's guess on bmi on their site on the Internet.

Some mornings i just weigh on one, but usually I do both.

I know the daily reductions will soon stop as stalls and other things happen, but it's fun watching the number go down every day. In previous diets, during the long haul, I just always made sure I weighed and logged on Monday mornings. Everything else was optional.

I had surgery 2/6....I weigh myself everyday on my digital scale....some days I was so surprised at the number going down, down down, I dug out the old dial scale and re-weighed myself....:)  Down 19lbs in 17 days...I like to wake up to that!

Every day except when I am travelling. Then its whenever I can find a scale. But at home, sometimes even more than once a day. I don't freak out about fluctuations, just like knowing how it all works.

I am going against probably a lot of people and say once a week. I have been doing this since surgery and have not had one week that I did not have a loss. If you go back a week you will see a post where I had my very first week that I did not lose and really didn't care. Don't get obsesed with the scale. Of course this is just my opinion and I am sure the gang is just in the wings waiting to pounce on my opinion. Pounce away.

I agree with Bob H.  I think weighing in every day can be dangerous to the psyche.  I'm a month out and the first 2 weeks had major loss...22 lbs altogether. Like others, I was enjoying watching that number go down daily.  That slowed down in weeks 3 and 4 so I began getting worried and discouraged.  After talking to friends and the nutritionist, I now only weigh once a week.  The nutritionist also reminded me to look at big picture....I've lost 26 lbs in a month and feel great.  I was a slave to the scale before surgery whenever I dieted, so I want things to be different now.  I guess the bottom line is that each person has to do what works for him or her.

I weigh myself daily first thing in the morning. I find that this helps keep me focused and on track. I can do a lot of damage in 1 week if I'm not paying attention. I only track my weight in my Excel spreadsheet weekly and monthly.

If you change nothing, nothing will change.

Every day when I wake up after I go to the bathroom.

Every morning before I shower & after I go to the bathroom.  Sometimes at night before bed.  I agree with everyone.  Its fun & nice to see the number on the scale go down.  I was 11 pounds heavier when I came home from the hospital (all fluids).  I am down 11 pounds from surgery day weight (my scale at home) at 11 days post op.  I use my fitness pal & keep track there.  I dont obsess about numbers on the scale though.  It does not affect my shake & protein intake nor my fluid intake.  Though I cant eat a whole lot besides soup at my stage.  I think it will help keep me on track so that I dont over indulge & put weight on & keep my head in the game once the loss becomes very big & when I reach goal.  Keeps me honest I guess is what I mean.   :)
