Counseling, counseling, oh and MORE counseling
Of course, some of you know about my daughter's issues. Well, my Midget Girl was referred to a new doctor to help bring out and recover from her history of sexual abuse (from 5 years ago), as well as helping her cope with her ADHD. They don't want to put anymore labels on her until she has a complete workup.
While talking to the doctor about that, he brought up that he wants ME to see a psychiatrist as well. He said that with all of the changes from weight loss, plus the stress from dealing with Midget Girl, it would help to see someone. I completely agree. It would be nice to have someone get inside of my head and help out with my own issues. (Anxiety and PTSD due to my own sexual abuse and rapes)
Today, the hubby went into to HIS psych to figure out any issues going on with him. I give him a lot of credit. He hasn't had the easiest of lives, so I'm really proud of him for taking this step. We're also seeing about some marriage counseling to get things back to good for us. I'm not willing to give up on this man. He's also joined up with MFP. He's going through some intense physical therapy for his back, and he has to lose weight, so he's doing what I'm doing, just in larger numbers. He told me today that he doesn't know how I do it. I couldn't help but smile. It was the closest I have ever heard him come to saying he's proud of me.
So, we're a household full of nut jobs that need shrinks on a regular basis. BUT, I can at least smile at the fact that we're not letting this crap build up inside of us anymore. It's definitely a time for new beginnings. ![]()
Laura, sounds like a lot of positives there. Talk therapy can be a great help and relief if you and the therapist are compatible. I wish all of you the best and send you all some hugs. :)

lol Well, the thing is she was SUPER tiny when she was born. She was 5 lbs 3 oz and 19 inches long. I'm average 5'5" and my husband is 6'2". He's forever called me his favorite midget (being the smartass that he is). Well, as she started growing, she started to take after my husband. She's almost 8 years old and will be taller than me in the next year or so. So, keeping with the smartassery that seems to run in the family, we started calling her "Midget Girl".
My youngest daughter (almost 2), is my chunky monkey. We call her "Dumplin Girl". She's tall for her age already, but has cheeks and thighs that just go on for days. lol Nicnames are big in my family. Most of my family members don't know my real name. I was dubbed "Peach" on the day I was born because of my peach fuzz for hair. My little sister is called Bird, my brother is Bubba, my mom is Bee, my uncle is Boy...lol We have A LOT of them.
