"3 month" post op appointment
My surgeon is deployed, so I saw the bariatric nurse and another doctor. The nurse didn't recognize me when she called my name. I weighed in at 185 lbs, but hey, it's cold so I bundled up a little. lol They said that I am doing fine on all of my labs. I'm not anemic and he said my B12 was great. He suggested I talk to the NUT again about getting more leafy greens in, so my bruising will stop. He told me it was more than likely my vitamin K, but they didn't do any coagulation labs when I went last time. Other than that, they're really surprised at how well I'm doing. I was warned that because I've lost so much, it's going to start slowing down. The nurse told me that it's all in my hands now. If I want to lose more, it's possible, but it's all up to me. I finally have some control over something.
I think the funniest part is this doctor is about my age. He asked me to lift my shirt and unbutton my pants so he could see my scars and push on my belly. When I did, he started to blush a bit and get giggly. Poor guy was trying to hide it, but I could tell. HAHA! That's NEVER happened before.
All in all, it was a really good appointment. :)
