I was really interested in your post as well, I'm pre op and I have ITP (platelets currently 44,000), the doctor is going to give me injections of a drug (whose name I cannot recall) before surgery. She will be scheduling a test run soon (to make sure the meds bring my count up adequately and keep them stable).

Because of the ITP I also have an enlarged spleen, and I have heard sometimes they remove it during surgery. Please could you share your experiences with me? I will also PM you.
