I got my surgery approved today it is scheduled for 3/18 so excited to get started.  Any advise? I have a 5 hour appt with my nut and nurse next Thursday I almost fell out of my chair when she scheduled it and told me to plan on being there for five hours...... Is there really that much info that I will be there five hours?

I was approved last week and my surgery is also scheduled for 3/18. My preop appointment is tomorrow I was not told how long it would take but it doesn't start until 4 pm.

CONGRATS ON YOUR BIG DAY. 3/18 WILL BE A DAY YOU'LL NEVER FORGET!!!!

5 hours seems like a very, very long time. My appt. was only for one and a half hours. Just remember that after surgery your stomach will be making tons and tons of noise and you may feel very hungry but you're not hungry. Take a Prilosec or the other medication that your surgeon will be prescribing you that's the same thing as Prilosec. That stuff instantly calmed my stomach down and I had 0 hunger pains after that. It's very hard to drink water but you've got to try your best. You probably won't want to try but do it anyways. Also, Unjury Chicken flavor saved my life. I don't know what I would've done without my chicken broth. I lived on that stiff for a full week. It's delicious. Relax, take it easy, rent some movies, drink some water, walk out the gas pains and if you experience any pain at all just think about all of the new clothes you'll be able to buy in just a few short months. My experience was AMAZING, I had barely any pain. I was in my surgeons office about 4 hours after surgery and I felt so good that I could've done jumping jacks. I didn't but I felt good. I know that there are a lot of stories on here where people are in pain and have tons of gas but I had barely any gas and I was feeling good.

Congratulations again- you'll be just fine...

XOXO,

Hilary
