You Can Do Anything -- First 15K!

Today was a great day. I am 10.5 months out and ran my first 15K !!!! I did it in 1:48:44 with an 11:42 average mile!

I just want everyone to know you can condition your body to do anything now. You life will truly change. People run BECAUSE I run lol.

6 months ago I did my first 5K and it was at almost 39 minutes! I have done a couple more 5Ks but this was amazing. There were two bridges. One easy and one is called the Green Monster. Crazy incline on that thing.

I only walked for about 10s. I'm that person that if I start walking, it's harder to get your body going again. That's my hubby. He did it too! He's lost 35 pounds in the last 4 months and did a run/walk in 2:02 !

I woke up today 5.3lbs from goal weight! Amazing day. Love you people and sorry I'm not around so much but this forum has been invaluable to my journey. I thank each every one of you for words and inspiration.

Good for you, I am training to do my first 5K at the end of May. I think being almost 60 years old and having abused my body all my life is making me take a little longer to get there; but today I did 3.29 Kms in 30 minutes so I was happy with that and I did not walk once so I am making progress. Not sure that I will ever do a 15 Km but you sure impress the day lights out of me. Congratulations!!!

INSPIRING!!! :) I'm 17 days preop an have always been overweight. So running has always been a dream. Literally I have dreamnt n fantasied about running lol. Just today read march fitness an they have a trading guide :) and there's a 10 k in las Vegas in November AND LIVE BANDS EVERY ONE MILE. I love music :) just a thought I pray could possibly happen...lol got all sentimental :)

Awesome! I used C25K at first but switched to a 9-week 15K training program 9 weeks ago. It was great.

For my cross training days I do Zumba to help with endurance and I added a yoga/tai chi class about a month ago. Keeping your hips stretched helps immensely and injury free!
