Fluid intake--Am I the only one
The only thing that helps me is to fill 3 of my 20oz water bottles and force myself to drink 1 between breakfast and lunch, 1 between lunch and afternoon snack and 1 between snack and supper. My beloved coffee fills in the rest.

I think this has been one of my biggest surprises since surgery. I was always a HUGE water drinker before surgery...no matter where I went I always had a water bottle and have done so since I was a teenager. Since surgery I do struggle to get in my water. I have to do the sip sip still and it fills me up so much that I often have a difficult time eating even with an hour or more of no drinking before eating. NOW..if my days could be 36 hours instead of only 24 maybe.... Have done the IV route twice since surgery due to dehydration......nah..I'll keep trying to drink more IV's are NO fun
I wish all of us better liquid drinking luck!
I've always been a big water drinker and now I'm lucky to get in 24 oz a day. It nauseates me. I've tried MEO drops (too sweet) crystal lite pink lemonade wasn't too bad. The protein shakes make me gag, I get so bloated & full from just a few oz of them that I can't drink for hours. I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm down 30.6 lbs since surgery.
I'm on soft creamy foods right now, refried beans & I mix in unflavored Greek yogurt to make it smoother, I had chicken salad today made with yogurt instead of mayo. I just added some seasoning to it, I've had potato soup & I add yogurt to it as well. Any thing to add protein.
I have been eating ice chips & sf popcicles so that adds to my fluid intake.
