There are many more here that do appreciate it. Why should those that choose to believe not be able to speak about it because some of the people here don't like it. I don't like sports, so when those posts come up I skip over them. I may open them at 1st and realize what they are about, but then I move on. There is no need to be ugly to someone because you have a different opinion. Calling someone ignorant because of their beliefs is ignorant itself. Block him or skip over his posts. I don't understand why atheist feel the need to bash Christians so harshly. Making a post was not shoving it down your throat. When you opened this thread and chose to comment you took it and shoved it down your own throat, because by commenting you brought the replies on yourself. You will either continue to shove it deeper by adding more to this conversation or you can do what atheism has taught you and pretend this never existed in the first place.

Regardless of  ANY OF OUR religious beliefs, we are all entitled to OUR opinion's enlightened

With that being said I do believe that Since this is a WEIGHT LOSS SITE  the posts should be just that  not a platform to promote ANY religion.

We all believe someone or something has helped us achieve our WL goals, no matter what that ONE thing, person or belief  is.

Love thy neighbor comes to Mind and That is not a religious reference.

If you don't like that one try PLAY NICE!

The problem with this is people post off topic ALL THE TIME. Not a single person gets upset with it unless it is about God. Sports, hurricanes, costume parties; no one has a problem with those posts. You can't say off topic is ok for one but not the other.

I wasn't really talking toyou. There was another poster calling people names.  Bella I mean really? C'mon ..why are YOU bashing ME for my personal beliefs so harshly?

The problem with this is people post off topic ALL THE TIME. Sports, hurricanes, costume parties; no one has a problem with those posts.

Not a single person gets upset with it unless it is about God. I know this is not true

You can't say off topic is ok for one but not the other.  Exactly!

majority of the time ( Ive been here awhile ok!) ..when we open up a post we know what we're gettin into...or a poster may put OT (off topic) as a warning that the post has LITTLE to do with weight loss.

I felt compelled to reply to Rhinos post cuz HE ASKED.

He expressed his beliefs..I expressed mine after he solicited a response...is there a difference? So why the bashing?  Ive seen his religious themed posts n did pass em up before...I opened em before cuz I thought it would be related to weight-loss  not personal religious beliefs. No warning no nuthin to his OT posts.....This is a WL forum right or am I the one mistaken for the last 5 years. Don't answer that!! HA!

n Bella I know you would say sumthin...if I made repeated TOPIC posts here about Atheism, Solipsism,  Allah, Abraham, Buddha, Nazism , Scientology..on n on..without a warning it was OT.  If I constantly posted topics of racism (hopefully ya haven't caught my rants about my pink Irish husband) . agism or any other -ism  on a weight loss forum you wouldn't like it either right?

This isn't the place!  ..Arbitrary is right tho...Why exempt one and not the other as you pointed out. Christian, Atheist, Hedonist (aka Jimboism!! lmao) on n on  and on.

Take the pearls of wisdom and experience....and ignore the rest or BLOCK EM! ....I won't block Rhino either...but IF HE/ANYONE ASKS for a response....he n anyone...is gonna get one ,-).......  a diversity of opinions includin MINE...so maybe expect it n not take it so personal especially if not directed to you!  ....otoh

I may START posting my ATHEIST topics too now, of course in the guise of weight loss....bein this public forum is so open, so tolerant of ALL personal beliefs

but organized religion bores me ..so passe ...must be my Catholic upbringing, private Christian university for years..ideology bein shoved down my throat ,-) ...so I may start with PRO-CHOICE...whatcha think? ..should we repeal Roe v Wade..n revert to the back alley coat hangers of yesteryear (nevermind your too young to remember what women went thru pre '73), n should we pay for all those welfare babies to teens because women have NO choice what they put in their bodies to prevent (BC options/abortion) unwanted pregnancies even in the case of rape? hmm..

Anyway thanks BELLA!! You opened my mind to the endless possibilities....you ARE soooo right ..TOLERANCE for ALL...inc MY beliefs! mail There's plenty of room for ALL of us...thanks for the reminder ,-) See why I love you YOUNG UNS! You keep it real for us old timers!

off to do me  ,  planks n lemon squeezes ,-)

You have the right to post whatever you want that is not hate. You want to post about atheism, more power to you. I have no problems with it. The possibilities are endless. Have fun. Enjoy yourself. Those that agree with you can post in your thread and I hope those that don't or only have ugly things to say will not. I would feel the same way towards a Christian going into a thread about atheism and telling you not to shove it down their throats or called you ignorant.

Not once did I bash your beliefs. In fact I can completely understand atheism. I see the thought process. I am, despite what you may believe, an intelligent and open minded person.

If people get upset about other off-topic post, they don't comment. I have not seen anyone go into an off-topic thread and call them ignorant and tell them they should not be posting. There may be some, but none that I have seen. When I first came here there was a post about Obama. There were 2 pages of comments and not one that I saw was upset about it, unless it came later and I missed it.

This is really boring me though. I appreciate everyone's opinion. Whether I agree or not. I just appreciate civil conversations without people being called ignorant. By the way, you know nothing about me. Even if I say God bless, you have no idea what "God" I may be referring to.

I believe God is a strong advocate for VSG for those who need it. He wants us to take care of our temple. If VSG is the tool that allows us to regain our health and allow us to live more happy and fulfilling lives then there is nothing wrong with this surgical miracle. Don't really know the point of the original posters message. I guess it is that God doesn't hate fat people. All I know is God desires what is best for us and healthy bodies is part of his desire. Thats my 2 cents. Now quit the petty silly arguments and eat some protien. LOL. kiss
