HA! Take THAT stall!
I was stuck at 178 for 20 days. I'd go up and down up and down to where I wanted to just chuck my scale. Yes. I'm a hypocrite in telling everyone it's normal to stall. It's always hard to follow your own advice, ya know!
I hit 176 this morning. It's only 2 lbs, but I'LL TAKE IT! I've also been going against all advice about drinking from straws. When walking the mall last night, my friend wanted Chick fil a. I just wanted a drink, so I grabbed the biggest cup of diet lemonade they had. Since I don't gulp down my drinks, I didn't have any problems with gas, but I have been able to get more fluids in me using that cup than using my water bottles.
Whatever works, right?
*Happy dance happy dance happy dance...trips, falls, looks to see if anyone saw that, and walks away*
To be honest, I pushed more with the fluids, and I *da da duuuuuum* cheated a little and had more carbs than I should have. I gave into my TOM craving. (Small bag of spicy chips) That seems to be the way I'm breaking my stalls. I do low carb for a while, then I up it. I guess it's carb cycling. I don't usually do that until I've been at a stall for a couple weeks, though.
If you would like to participate in my little research mission, next time you hit a stall, try increasing your fat intake by double. I know it sounds horrible but if my suspicions are correct, especially for women, your stall will be over in less than 3 days. So when you stall eat salmon, avocado, more olive oils, nuts, healthy fats but get your fat intake up high. I suspect the chips was not from the carbs but from the fats. I have experimented with a couple of things. First was carbs which did not work, what it really did was threw me into a yo yo cycle. The second was fats which works pretty well and pretty consistently. Finally right now I am experimenting with intermittent fasting which seems to be working incredibly well. That fats approach for women is much better because fat stabilizes hormones in women (which could be why women crave certain things during TOM).
Also, from the books I've read, taking this can help break a stall: http://www.vitacost.com/barleans-the-essential-woman-chocola te-raspberry-swirl?csrc=GPF-PA-705875000284&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw =&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=705875000284&gclid=CMij8KSno7YCFS-o PAodO3wA_Q
The key is 'health fats'. This oil can help you have beautiful hair and skin, too.
