How long did everyone stay off work? I have planned to be off 11 days or about 2 weeks. I have a job where I sit down for a good period of time, but I have to wal****asionally to get things off of the printer. Any input would be helpful.

I too have a mostly sit down job, I took 2 weeks and I'm glad I did...  Our bodies need the adjustment period, and working on water, protein, clear liquids... it was time consuming.  There wasn't much pain but I was tired, probably from "eating" half the calories :)

Today is my first day back ...I'm ten days post laparascopic RNY. I feel great. I don't have extra leave so I had to come back. I sit at a computer all day.

I took off 7 days. The first three days back I hit a wall in the early afternoon. This week is fine. If you are taking off 2 weeks you should be fine when you go back.

I am having my surgery on a Wednesday and I was planning to go back to work on Monday.  I teach preschool, but I don't have to do any lifting and I have an assistant. I hope I am not making a mistake!!!!

I had my surgery Thursday, and no way could I go back to work this week. I can barely get to and from the bathroom by myself! I'm expecting my return to work date to be the 15th, but warned work I may not come back till the 22nd, depending how I feel.

I took 1 full week off and then did half days the 2nd week.  I was still very tired that second week and probably woudln't have done well without half days.  You will probably be ok with the time you are planning, just know yourself and don't pu****

This is a good idea. To save some of my sick leave. Stretch it out! Very smart!

My surgeon follows a 2-6 week guideline.  Depends on the patient.  I was off for four weeks.  I mostly recovered from the surgery incisions after two and the additional two weeks was due to being tired and adjusting to new lifestyle and nutrition changes.
