Did anyone else get sent home with an elastic band to wear around their abdomin when there were up and moving around? How long did you wear it? I am starting to feel better without it on. I plan on checking with my doctor today and see how long I need to wear it.

This is the first I've hears of an elastic band.  You've got me curious though.  What does it do?

Good luck on your Post-op journey

I'm pretty sure she means a binder.

I did, but I never wore it after I got home, only while I was in the hospital (which was for 4 days - standard for my doc).  It was an awesome thing to use in the hospital - helped me feel like the jiggly bits weren't all jiggly and I definitely strained less when I walked (which I did a ton of in the hospital - .5 miles about 4 hours after surgery, 2 miles each day after that until I got sent home).  It felt good to have on when I was in bed, but the nurses didn't want me to wear it so I could "air out" so to speak.  Once I got home, I didn't feel so jiggly anymore, so I didn't really wear it.

I had a binder and I wore it for about two weeks post-op.  It REALLY helped me. I had a very big stomach and the weight of it hanging really hurt my incisions. The binder helped a lot.
