NSV-Unsubscribe!
Just unsubscribed from the email lists for Lane Bryant and Torrid. Figure I won't be shopping there again, because if I can't buy clothes at a regular store I'd best go back to basics and shrink myself into my existing clothes. I don't want to say "x lbs gone forever," but really. This is a hard line for me, and I will not spend another dollar in a "women's" store.
Ahhh! You are living my dream of never shopping in a large size department or store again! Though I can wear a misses XL, I'm still finding that Women's pants (16W) fit better than Misses sizes - though I can at least fit into misses sizes!
I HATE, HATE, HATE Lane Bryant, and haven't bought any of their cheaply made, overpriced stuff for many, many years (since LLBean, Lands End, Talbots and Nordstrom started carrying large sizes!).
I've only been in Torrid once, and I have to say, that I loved that store! It's not super convenient, so I haven't been back, but they at least had cute things!
I'm with you--LB clothes suck, but since I spent the last 8 years as an at-home parent it was hard to justify spending real $$ on clothing. I'm still buying cheap stuff, but you better believe when I get to goal and find my maintenance weight I'm going to drop some cash on "investment" pieces (the idea that I will be able to do this cracks me up--I used to think it was a waste of $$ b/c I wouldn't stay a size long).
Torrid's clothing is trendy and cheap (and often a bit too revealing/not my style), but I found a few cute things there. Happy to say goodbye, though. There are plenty of sources for cheap, trendy clothes in regular sizes. :)
I did this recently too! It's so LIBERATING! I also shopped in a "skinny girl" store yesterday here in Soho :) I still had to get an XL in their sizes (when I'm really more of a medium elsewhere) but damn it felt good! WTG!
band to sleeve revision and loving life!
You do you, and I'll do me
