What support really is and what being supporive isn't

Thus the reason why I rarely post on the main forum. I'm SO ******G tired of being told that people replying to posts are the ones responsible to make sure that our posts don't offend anyone. Really?? Completely ******g ridiculous.

So, I'm a ******g hypocrite, too. I stopped posting because the overly sensitive folks took offense. I stopped posting because I was tired of overly sensitive people forcing themselves to be and stay the never-ending victim.

Sensitive people need to take some responsibility. It is not the responsibility of the rest of us to bend over and kiss our own asses so that the sensitive folks can walk away from every post feeling like they just smelled roses.

I say we all just be who the **** we are. That's why there a BLOCK button - to customize the OH experience to everyone's personal liking. I tend to like to read every point of view so, I've only used the block button once and have since unblocked that person. I want to read, understand, agree and disagree with all of it. That's how I ******g plan learn and grow.

I understand that, I think I survived raising teenagers. My oldest turns 30 on the 9th. I thought her teen years were going to send me to the funny farm. Her friends were a real "joy" too. Hang in there.

You just gave me hope Linda! My 14 year old will send both her dad and I to the funny farm!!! And I have an 18 year old and an almost 17 year old too... who are thankfully morphing into young adults before my eyes. But the young one... oh boy!!!! So yeah, I have grown a thicker skin and can take it pretty well when someone tells me to pull my head out of my butt with good reason!!!

.. wait, I'm not a particularly sensitive person.. I do however love that damn block button and as soon as I realize said block-ee is going to drive me bat**** with multiple whining posts (I should clarify: repetitive whining posts.. same topic, gets same answers.. posts again to collect more?) or uses my insta-block trigger word "bully" or some-such related adjective.. poof!

*reality check: there are no bullies on the internet.. it's your ******g choice to interact with them.. unless they somehow get your personal info and start stalking you, YOU have the CONTROL...

..ahem, well.. yes... thanks for the handy soapbox Slim.
