I had my EGD. The report stated:
"Normal esophagus. A gastric sleeve was found. Slight narrowing and gastric dysmotility was noted; dilated with balloon to 15 mm. Normal examined duodenum".

Anyone know what this means. Or how BAD / GOOD this report might be??? Should I expect this to just get better over time???

i am no doctor but it all sounds good , you could call your doctor on Monday and ask

the normals are always good , slight narrowing does not sound to bad and it sounds like he/she stretched it  , and dysmotilty I think means that it is not moving much, but you just has 85 % of you stomach remove so that might be normal

I would not worry but I would call my doctor to check

Sounds good to me. They found a slight narrowing, fixed it, and everything else looked good.

sounds like you have a stricture (narrowing) presented stomach "dysmotility" ( 'difficulty moving' foods thru peristalsis past the stricture) ...dilated (stretched) the tissue with balloon dilation...to 15 mm (~size across inside of a dime)  ...typical treatment with endoscopy for stricture.

They inflate deflate the balloon tip attached to the endoscope a few times to push the scar tissue (stricture-narrowing) back  and widen that narrowing...to improve motility food gettin past.

I think your lucky you had this sooner rather than later...crossin fingers that stubborn ole scar tissue is nice n soft enough to STAY DOWN with just the one dilation. ... many peeps with strictures have to go in for repeated dilations cuz that ole scar tissue can be stubborn wannin to spring back to where n how it was formed... months later before repeat dilations n gently stretchin it out over a few treatments..keeps it down for good.

Everythin else looks great..esophagus and duodenum (small intestine just past your pyloric valve)

I would expect to get better...strictures are annoying but you can do so much to help yourself out....while gettin past it  Take it easy with meats, low fiber foods that slow peristalsis while yer healin.....chew to liquid as much as possible to help yer stomach out...will also help slow YOU down so you can concentrate on SATIETY!! lol  see how that works!

This report says to me... yer well on your way...to gettin past this speed bump n  ROCKIN THAT SLEEVE!!

I would advise you to discuss with your physician.  It is HIS job to interpret your test/procedure results with you.

I'd say it sounds far more positive than negative! Even if the stricture does pop back up it can be re-dialated. I'm sure there is still alot of swelling from the sleeve surgery and as that goes down it sounds like the whole situation should get better. Hang in there!

Thanks everyone!! My doc did discuss with me - I just wanted to hear from others too. Things is., I still can't keep ANYTHING down. If I drink anything, I get severe - and I mean SEVERE pain in my left shoulder blade and under by left breast like I'm having a heart attack. It hurts until I throw up. Doc is looking into possible pancreatitis.

I hope this helps, I'm a Endoscopy tech. I do these procedures often. Basically they noted the surgery and u had a narrowing and your motility is difficult, prob cuz of the narrowing. They put in a balloon to dilate the narrowing which should help.
