Day 7 of pre op diet
Already down 10 lbs. One more week till surgery. It's kind of nerve racking as I get closer and closer and they give me the breakdown of how it will go. I am trying to keep positive and believe this is the best thing for me. I guess only the first 4 week post op seem to be the toughest.
Funny thing is I work IN A BARIATRIC OFFICE!! I always thought I knew exactly what the policy and procedure was until going through it on the other side. It's alot of information to digest..but at least it's calorie free, bah da bum!!!!
I feel your pain, maybe not at that magnitude but still. I'm on day 2.....of 3. I don't think I could do a 4 week pre-op. In fact, if I knew then what I know now, I'd probably picked a surgeon based on the pre-op. It's wrong I know.
How are you dealing with this?
For me:
Breakfast - Protein shake with fruits in the magic bullet.
Snack today is Isopure liquid in Vitamin water zero. Yesterday was runny oatmeal with unflavored protein powder.
Lunch yesterday was Sweet tomato soups with unflavored protein powder. Not sure about today althought I have a progresso light SW veg soup I may blend with some protein powder.
Dinner last night was egg drop and hot and sour soup. I had family in town and had to make do.
You have a four week pre op diet?? I've never heard of that. Mine is only two week.
The first few days was tough but it got easier and once you see the pounds fall off it's more of an incentive. The reason for the pre op diet is to prepare your liver for surgery to make things easier so try and think of it as a means to a more successful surgery as well.
I also have surgery coming up in a week June 18 for VSG and im on my 8th day and its not that bad but I've have had a Few slip ups but i'm doing like i'm suppose to now.

I have 5 days of Clear Liquids, starting on Sunday. I'm getting nervous and excited at the same time!
BTW I think you're going to be an amazing asset to the bariatric office post-surgery. You'll know what it's like to be the patient too. What a unique and wonderful position to be in for the other patients!
