When seeing people in person for the first time in a while?

I know what you mean. I don't think it's a stupid issue at all - society is obsessed with appearance. After yo-yo dieting most of my life, I began to rely on others' positive reinforcement for self-esteem boosts, etc. Unfortunately, it didn't help me to maintain a healthy weight, and it was actually to my detriment because every time I gained weight back, I no longer wanted to see people! Annoying cycle there. Anyway, I have learned to politely thank those who compliment me on weight loss - and then promptly change the subject. I think it dies down as people get used to "former fat friends" and such - at least in my case it seemed like that. Breathe it in, enjoy it, then breathe it out!

I try not to dwell on what people say like I used to... I may be singing a different tune in another 8 months when I am at my goal weight, though, who knows. I just know I have to try hard NOT to rely on others' perceptions - it messes with my head, and it makes me uncomfortable, too.

P.S. You really are looking FABULOUS!
