Emotional support needed ASAP!!
Hi OH family! I'm so far in the dumps right now...it seems like most people here just have smooth sailing after the first few weeks. It seems I take one step forward and 2 steps backwards. I was sleeved on 6/17/13 and have had a hard time every since. My surgeon knew I had a stricture immediately. I was sent home with an IV PICC line which I still have. I had worked my self up to soft/purée foods this week. I had been on clear liquids this whole time and I was sooooo hungry! I messed up and ate some blenderized tuna. On Monday I was fine but when I tried to eat more on Tuesday, I had an episode of vomiting for 6 hours!!! I basically haven't been able to eat a thing since. 2 sips of protein shake and I throw up. Water won't go down and all I can eat is ice chips. I am so hungry, irritable and depressed. I just lost it on my husband and my poor 11 year old just doesn't know what to do. I had to stop going on my 2 mile walks because I don't have enough calories, not even 100 per day. Anyone experience this? Please help!!
Did you call your surgeon? Not keeping down fluids is not good. Be kind to yourself and give yourself a break. You've had a rough go of it. xoxo

Ok, first thing, call your doctor or go to ER or both...2nd thing...I was sleeved on 6/12/13 and barely have the energy for a mile, I am a little heavier than you but only about 25 lbs...with the issues you have had you need to give yourself more time to heal...some people just take a little longer, don't be discouraged...you need to heal!!!

keep your head up... it will get better... did your surgeon say when he will do the egd to dilate the stricture yet? everything you are going through I went through, (this is about the time that they put a feeding tube in me since I couldn't keep anything down), I absolutely regretted the surgery in May, the day my surgeon dilated my stricture I went home and was finally able to eat that day and 2 weeks ago I had the feeding tube removed and I'm feeling great now (next week I will be 3 months out). I no longer have those regrets, but believe me I know what you are going through, I was crying and just wanted to feel better. I'm keeping you in my prayers and I know it will get better, it will just take time
Oh I'm so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Stay on your Dr. it's important. Right now do what works for you, if ice chips are working continue that. I know it's hard, I have had some rough days as well, but this too shall past. Try to focus on the positive and know that you will get better. Your body is healing. I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers.
