That's awesome. Pushing through when you don't feel like it is much more important than killing it when you're on top of the world. Good job!

Thank you so much!  I needed that.  I was near tears yesterday bc I felt like a failure, but then I just took a deep breath and worked as hard as I could.

Ugh I felt the same way yesterday!  I did all my weights and squats, etc, then was walking/running. Well I felt like CRAWLING...I finally picked up to a run and one of the trainers yelled to me "Way to pick it up".  I only lasted a few rotations and just walked the rest.  But I kept going so I felt a little better :(  Some days are just BRUTAL like that!  Good job fighting through it!

I think that's fantastic.

Really.

We are NOT olympic athletes (yet!).If we don't bring home a gold medal every day, there's no critics wagging their fingers. Only our internal voices. Those voice may scream "Failure." But they're not very smart, because they're no human - they're just tape recordings.

There will be many days where you will feel less than 100%.  Doing the best you can on those days is what "victory" for us needs to feel like.  That is conquering something. Ourselves.  We aren't going to be outrunning the person from the Kenya or lifting more than the competitor from Slovenia.

We are competing with the voices in our heads.

I love that!  You're right.  We compete with ourselves, we try to outrun our demons bc they are us.  I actually attempted running last week (it's the big ugly for me as far as exercise goes, but I decided to not be afraid.  I run for a warm up & cool down in kickboxing.  I've run in the past, albeit like a big buffalo lumbering around.  And I did it, and I pushed through it.  I ran farther and longer than I've ever run, and I breathed deeply all the while marveling that my body could actually do this.  I hated it, but I loved it.

I adore you.  Really.  You're so inspiring, kind, intelligent, clever and just awesome.  Thank you

That's just my internet persona - in real life i'm kind of a jackass... :)

Congrats on the run - the biggest victory most of us are likely to have is over our own stubborn "don't wanna do that" selves.  We won't always win, but it sure feels good when we pull it off.
