Yesterday I was back at the dr. for a follow-up.  I do still need to stay on my BP meds for now, but other than that I'm healing well and have lost 24 lbs since surgery day!

I also have been given the OK to slowly add solid foods back into my diet.  So far, all I tried was a very very small piece of chicken but it tasted great and gave me no trouble!  Also I can go back in the pool, and do whatever exercises I feel comfortable doing.

Some unrelated bad news - I found a wasp nest at work, and the wasps were unhappy about it.  I got stung several times on my hand, and it swelled up.  Funny how I could get through surgery and not cry, but a couple little stings had me in tears...

Sorry about the wasps!  Ouch.  I too had to stay on my blood pressure medicine until 4 months out.  Just take the solid food thing slow and if one week something doesn't agree with you the next week it might.  You just have to keep experimenting.  I found it was important to weigh my food and I can eat different portions of different meat.  For example, I can eat more chicken than I can eat of steak.
