Yummy dinner

Whipped up some garlic shrimp n pasta tonight. Hi protein! Hubby gives it two thumbs up. I made a skillet full. (Pasta optional)

1lb frozen, raw shrimp (deveined, tails removed)
4 TBS butter
At least 6 garlic cloves, to taste
3 c cooked dream fields pasta
Italian seasoning to taste
Low fat mozzarella cheese for garnish

Melt butter over medium heat, add shrimp. Let cook till shrimp starts to curl/turn pink. Add garlic. Cook for 5-7 mins till shrimp is done. Add cooked pasta, with enough water (I used about 1/2 cup) to make it juicy. Add Italian seasoning. Sauté, stirring till well mixed and liquid is reduced. Place in bowls, add shredded cheese if desired.

I counted my serving as 6 shrimp, 1/8 cup pasta (just a taste), and 1/4 c cheese. MFP is telling me this is 200 calories, 7 carbs, 8 fat, and 27g protein. I could only eat half of it.

It's a carb-control pasta that tastes decent. It is all we use anymore. It supposedly is produced in a way that prevents a load of carbs from jacking up your blood sugar as quickly as regular pasta, but there is a lot of debate on this. Anecdotally, hubby and I didn't tend to crash after Dreamfields pasta prior to my surgery.

I should add this was my first venture back into any sort of pasta, and even with the very small amount I had, I was take it or leave it. I have come a long ways.

Sounds simple and delicious. Now if only I weren't allergic to shrimp! WTG on creativity.

Hubs and I were talking about how we could modify it. Thin-sliced chicken or spicy turkey sausage would be equally tasty, I think!

I bet it would be good with Trader Joe's garlic herb chicken sausage...

Holy crap...when do I get to try even a smidge of this???? I can't wait for the day that I can have a half slice of the tuna appetizer at Outback and also...I want a small bite of a hot dog and preferably with a smidge of the pretzel bread to chew, chew, chew. I didn't even eat hot dogs prior but for some reason out of all the things I could want a smidge of (pizza, steak, etc.) I want a hot dog...isn't that crazy? And with the mustard and ketchup. I am a condiment hore. hee hee. Also, the shrimp...can't wait to chew on just one good shrimp!
