Is there anyone who has had their sleeve 8 years or more?

Just curious if anyone is a long term sleever. I would love to hear your story and how you are doing today.  I am contemplating getting the sleeve surgery and I am curious about long term maintenance and complications that occur years down the road. I would love to hear from you and learn a little about the lifestyle after the sleeve, how it makes life different with regards to losing and keeping weight off and anything else you would like to share. I have over 150 lbs to lose and am wondering if this is the surgery for me or if I should pursue the duodenal switch.

I don't know anyone that has had it for eight years, but I have had it for four and I know a few people who have had it for five, six and seven years.  The people I know all that far out all had their surgery done by the same doctor so my opinion on this is a bit slanted toward the results of my doctor.  All the people I know from this practice are doing fine.  They are at goal or close and there does not seem to be any adverse side effects.  However, if you look at statistics in general, you will see the same regain as with RNY.  I would tell you the same thing that I tell any newbie, research your doctor carefully and pick someone who can give you a tight, well formed sleeve and you should be fine.
