I too was severely anemic for years. Found out it was celiac disease 2years ago and finally my numbers are going up

I also suffered from low iron anemia. I thought I could change it with protein and iron pills...a year later I got the infusions and within 2-4 weeks I was a NEW person. I say, do what your doctors tell you. If they want to give you blood, you must be very very low. Dangerously low. This is no joke and feeling like your half dead isn't ANY fun. I wish you the very best. (MY doctor told me the iron pills were like putting a drop of water in the ocean...it would take FOREVER to make a difference, we went for the infusions, so glad!!) Stay healthy!!!

6+ years out with sleeve.  I have iron deficient anemia.  I see a hematologist and we do infusions to keep my iron up.  I do feraheme in 2 doses takes about an hour each time.  My iron is finally at a normal level.

Vitamin deficiencies are more common than people may think with the sleeve.  My suggestion, find a good hematologist to do infusions.  It's really the best and fastest way to feel better sooner!
