Beginners Exercise - Stand Up Straight
Something that goes unspoken or unsaid in the overweight world is that most of us have or have had crappy posture. Good posture is important for many many reasons. Poor posture is also a sign of a weak core. So in addition to strengthening your core, work on standing up straight! When you are sitting at the dinner table or at your desk make sure to pinch your shoulder blades together to help strengthen essential upper back muscles.
I have actually been thinking about this the last few days.
Noticed that I lean over a lot....lean forward a bit when walking, lean over a shopping cart and leaning over the sink when I am doing dishes. I think this is because of the big belly backache situation. When I catch myself doing this I immediately straighten up and breathe.
When your posture is good your breathing is better!
