Short women--where do you buy pants?

I am far too lazy to drag myself to both a store and a tailor, so I want pants that are the right length.  I also want them to fit both in the thighs/hips AND in the waist (no giant gaps where you see my underwear).

Anyone have any brilliant suggestions?  This is annoyingly difficult, and I'm sick of going to stores and trying on pants but finding nothing.

(I'm looking for basic black/tan/charcoal pants to wear to work).

Thanks!

I found a nice pair of black pants in the petite department of Macy's.  I also got a pair in Burlington Coat Factory (also in petites).

JC penney petite section, prices not too bad, especially when they will only fit for  few weeks!

That is exactly what I've been doing, JC Penny petite section for work pants, Worthington trouser fit are my favorite.  I also bought Arizona jeans in the junior section and they fit great except the length.  I can't do the short ones on Arizona because they are a little too short for me but the butt and the legs fit great in medium length just a little long!  That's always my biggest problems, even when obese, the butt and thighs were huge but the waist would fit so juniors work great.  Good luck, and don't spend too much on the way down.

I've had decent luck with Talbots petites.  Ann Taylor also has nice petites.

But honestly?  I've found it's easier to just find a tailor, bite the bullet, and get 'em hemmed, than to go all over town looking for the elusive correct length.

Nordstroms, but I too get them at other stores and I have a great tailor.  It's worth it to me because I also need them taken in at the waist and fitted to my form.

The waist gap was always my big problem for me too.  I just bought some pants in petites from Not your daughter's jeans.  The fit like a glove.  My new fav since I can no longer wear the right fit at LB,

I buy my Lee Rider jeans from Amazon. It is the only place I can find jeans that fit at the waist. My body is short and pear shape with a small waist. Good luck!

If I buy pants, even in the petites sections of the usual department stores like Macy's, I still have to have them hemmed. If I buy capris then they fit like pants!! I have moved on to dresses for the most part. Way easier.
