DENIED!
Well round one! I just spoke to Cigna and they said my claim was denied because of missing information. The Psy Eval which I did have and a letter from another physician other than the surgeon recommending me for the surgery. I just read my plan and it says nothing about getting another recommendation from my PCP.
I'm pissed! Waiting to hear back from the coordinator now.
I just spoke with the coordinator and she was already on it! She said the psy eval was included in the submission and that she contacted my PCP to get the letter. Once she get it, she will file an appeal. I glad that what the insurance company denied me for can be fixed!
You'll get there! It sounds like you have an awesome insurance coordinator like I did. Insurance companies are in the business of making money. If they didn't play hard-to-get, they'd go bankrupt from paying off every customer who submitted any kind of paperwork. You've got this! I had a Cigna PPO and they were a PAIN, but we got there in the end!! Best of luck!
Oh! And, I just read your other post about your son's response to the denial... Typical man
Sometimes they just don't know when to smile and be agreeable, do they? ![]()

I completely understand your frustration right now. My insurance (Blue Cross, Blue Shield) denied me not once, but twice, stating I didn't supply the right documentation when we did...twice.
It will work out, it just takes patience. I know that easier said than done. Just remember that anything worth having is worth fighting for. This is definitely worth fighting for and YOU are definitely worth the fight.
Keep your chin up!
That sucks!!!! Do you have an HMO? If so, I think you do have to have some type of referral from your PCP.
Well if your PCP is telling you to lose weight, I would email him/her and tell her what you trying to do and that you need her recommendation ASAP.
This TOO shall pass. Insurance is making it HARDER and HARDER. Just giving you half A$$ information.
