Why is my Exercise Physiologist being a PITA?

Hi everyone, I am currently scheduled to have all of my pre-op stuff done by next Tuesday: upper endoscopy and biopsy, blood work, PCP appointment, etc. Everything would be set to be sent to the insurance company, except for one thing: the Exercise Physiologist (EP) will NOT return my calls! I know medical professionals get busy, but I feel like the EP really has no clue how important this surgery is or why I would like to get it done ASAP.

I already called her and left three messages. Do you think I should call the surgeon's office and ask if there's another EP I can contact instead? Should I just keep calling, or wait around for a response? I am pretty much going mental at this point waiting to schedule the EP visit so I can get all the paperwork submitted to the insurance company and hopefully have a late December/early January surgery date. 

I just cannot wait to start my turn on the Losers Bench!! Anybody else have a delay when it came to getting the pre-op requirements met? Thanks for letting me vent. Have a wonderful evening!

Assuming all your messages to her haven't been in the last 48 hours, definitely call your surgeon and ask for an alternate referral.

Yeah, they've been during the past week and still nothing. I will be calling the surgeon tomorrow. 

The only "delay" I experienced was a few weeks waiting for the sleep lab, but they are apparently really busy non-stop. I have to say, though, my surgeon's office is on the ball about getting me all the referrals and setting up appts for me. I feel like all I have had to do is show up, mostly. I would definitely recommend calling the office. If nothing else, hopefully they can provide you with an explanation for the delay, and either get you in with the EP or allow you to see someone else if that one is too busy. Good luck!
