Dizziness?

Your heart is a pump and was used to working hard enough to pump blood through a bigger body.  Now it does not have to work as hard and the pressure has slowed down.

When you sit or lie down, the blood now pools in your legs instead of going through your body.  It would be like turning down a water faucet.  The water is still coming out but more slowly.  When you stand up quickly the blood does not get to your head as quickly as before.

All you need to do is pump your legs a few times before you get up and the blood will speed up and get to your head.  That will get rid of the dizzy feeling.  This is a temporary thing and your body will soon make its own adjustments.

I will definitely try this. Thanks for this! By pump my legs, I just move them a bit? I will still keep my doc appt but am grateful for this info. I know my heart rate has slowed considerably in recent months as I have become more fit, so what you are saying makes a certain amount of sense.

Hi Laurie

Just move your legs like you are riding a bicycle.  A few times is all it takes.  This happened to me about five months out and I was really worried.  Someone told me about pumping my legs before standing and that was all it took.  This only lasted for a short time, maybe a week or two.

Thank you!

Orthostatic hypotension is common with fast weight loss.. it eventually passes, as your weight stabilizes. Also a biggie that not a lot of folks around here get- if you are doing very low carb, your need for sodium is MUCH higher than a normie. Many times, drinking some sodium heavy bullion broth fixes you up fast. Salt is not the devil that it was made out to be (kinda like fat, which also was demonized.. now they are finally realizing going low carb & low fat is NOT good for you... ) Google low carb and sodium needs, you may find a solution.

Thanks! Hubby is on a strict low sodium diet and so I have been following that as well. I will research what you suggested.

Great question!  I've been having the same problem.  I thought it was low blood sugar or something like that.  I don't know if I need to be eating more or what.  It's a little frustrating, but I'm definitely going to follow through on some of the tips / advice that you were given!
