Did your husband worry you would leave him post op, if so what helped?
I don't have any advice on top of what's been given. It seems everyone covered this pretty well. I just wanted to wish you well and say I'm sorry you are not getting the support you need right now. Recovering from PS is no walk in the park from what i understand, and you deserve to be supported and taken care of. Hang in there and take care of yourself.
I have not read all the replies, so I apologize if I am repeating anything. I am still pre-op and I am single so this will not be an issue for me! But I wanted to chime in about getting out of bed safely. I have had a spinal fusion, so I know all about getting in and out of bed in horrible pain! Try to roll to your side before lifting your body up, that helps a lot. I hope you can get some counseling for your husband, and I am sorry you are dealing with this. What an awesome daughter you have though!
The pain has made a lot of improvement over the last 24 hours. Still hurts to get out of bed, but I can now get out of bed on my own and in less pain. Normally I would roll to the side as suggested, but I have a long incision that crosses my hips along the bikini line and wraps around both hips and up the side a bit on both sides, with drains sewn in everywhere. I am afraid to roll on the incisions and pull that skin even a little right now, so it was all abs getting out of bed. I did at least figure out where to position myself in bed so it could be done in one motion (no scooting around needed). But, I think that if I continue to recover at the rate I am now this will be a nonissue here shortly. Thanks for the tip though!

Great thread, HT. You have a fabulous daughter! Well done on that!! This is on my mind a lot as I head towards plastics. I had my VSG away from home so when I came back it was life as usual and hubby wasn't exposed to the hospital stay and all that. I am thinking about changing my plan and doing the same with plastics, not only because I want to spare my family the worry and bearing witness to me bent and black and blue but I actually want to spare myself having to worry about them worrying! Men are indeed simple creatures. I like the 99.9% sex and .1% sports formula. It is spot on with most.
I think you are a little stronger than I am. I need my family around. I am not trying to torture them, but I do need them. I could really use my hubby too . PS surgery hasn't been terrible or anything, but it is more difficult than the sleeve. Granted I have a bit more emotional stress this round than last time, but I am happy to be home. You know yourself well and if flying away to complete the process is what works for you than by all means, but take some time to think about what your needs are.
DH went for a walk hours ago, and still no sign of him. Nothing like avoidance.
